My name is Hilda Dwumfuor. I am originally from Kumasi, Ghana. I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia. I received my bachelors degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Georgia State University and my masters in Social Work from Valdosta State University. I am a licensed social worker. My treatment and interventions are solution-focused. I help my clients see their self-worth, process life stressors and develop coping skills that will last them a lifetime. Although I am a well-rounded psychotherapist, my focus is in race-based trauma such as colorism and generational trauma, anxiety, depression, education based stress(college age), vocational stress, personal development, self esteem, and self worth. My population of interest are LGBTQ people, adolescents, children, and black women. I am currently pursing my masters in I/O psychology from Valdosta State University. I hope to open my own private practice and open an education based non-profit in Ghana for the youth.

Aylime Bueno

 

Aylime Bueno (she/her) is a second-year doctoral student in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at Wayne State University. Her research and practical interests are centered around workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion issues and their intersection with other topics such as team effectiveness, leadership and development, and organizational culture. Her previous roles centered around enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within startup and nonprofit organizations informed her current master’s thesis examining perceptions of allyship behaviors within the organizational context.

Daphney Revolus

My name is Daphney Revolus, and I am from New Jersey. I received my Master’s degree in Clinical & Counseling Psychology from Chestnut Hill College (Philadelphia) in 2021. I am now a PhD Candidate in Industrial & Organizational Psychology at Liberty University Online. This journey so far has been very fruitful and I am certainly feeling blessed to have finally found my calling. My interests are in Diversity and Inclusion and Leadership Development. I am dedicated to continuous learning, self-improvement, and delivering positive change. The opportunity to make an impact that lasts and being a role model for others is what motivates me.

I am very excited to be involved with the Blacks in I/O organization, making new connections, and further progressing in my career. Thank you BIOP for awarding me with the Visibility and Innovation Scholarship, I am truly honored and looking forward to sharing more about my journey and achievements soon!

Dejannae Lang


Dejannae Lang earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree from Florida International University and is finishing her PhD in Industrial Organizational Psychology in 2024. Dejannae has over 5 years of experience with identifying interpersonal skills to fit the proper work environment, diversity, equity, and inclusion issues and assisting organizations with leadership development, and servant leadership training. Her experiences and training in I/O psychology over time has sharpened her awareness to organizational/cultural relations, organizational processes, employee engagement, and employee development, and employee well – being. She is currently certified as a Predictive Index Practitioner. Recently she joined the dedicated science team at Workzinga as their Industrial and Organizational Psychologist. 

After completing her term in the U.S. Air Force directly after high school, Dejannae attended Broward College and Florida International University. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and now is working towards her Doctoral and a master’s along the way in Industrial Organizational Psychology at Keiser University. Dejannae also received a certification for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace from the University of South Florida.

Dejannae has consulted for colleges and universities since 2019. She has specialized in providing presentations and trainings on servant leadership in the education sector, as well as others. She continues to provide strategic diversity, equity, and inclusion training and leadership development consulting. She also works on the use of interpersonal skills within the workplace to impact productivity and communication within organizations. She speaks at several engagements throughout the year to draw attention to the principles of I/O psychology. Dejannae is working within Organizational Empowerment 501(c)3, under Gene Holloway.

Jordan Toussaint

Jordan Gabrielle Toussaint is a graduate student from Philadelphia currently studying industrial organizational psychology at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Her IOP interests include DEI, organizational development, and learning & development. She is a proud alumna of the illustrious Hampton University, a historically black university in Hampton, VA. During her time at Hampton University, Jordan was a lead research assistant examining the relation of the Trauma Symptom Inventory’s Sexual Dysfunction subscale to distress in African American college students. She is listed as an author on the published article. Jordan also presented research at the Virginia Social Science Association’s annual conference. During Jordan’s first semester at UNCC, she conducted research related to organizational culture. Jordan currently works for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) in the economic inclusion space. She hopes to use her IO degree to make a change in the federal government workplace.

Kiana King


Kiana King is a third year PhD student in the Industrial Organizational Psychology Ma/PhD program at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri 2020 and will continue on completing her Masters and her PhD through DePaul. She is an active member of Blacks in I/O (BIOP) as well as the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). Her current research interests include, DEI in the workplace, executive leadership, trauma at work and discrimination at or because of work related factors. She currently is a full-time graduate student while also working part time for a small consulting firm that focuses on executive coaching and leadership assessment & Development, chief among other things.
